11 trees axed for hoarding visibility in Bangalore. Yet again the advertising mafia in connivance with the authorities, has axed eleven trees on Airport Road opp Kemp Fort for better visibility of hoardings.(click on image for larger view).
This brings up the toll to around 35 trees on a stretch of just 0.5 km.This act has happened even after a campaign against this atrocity. The advertising lobby seems to be too powerful for us to stop them.
This cutting happens at the request of the advertiser to provide for a better view, this time it is Tata Indicom and ICICI bank.
I request everybody to raise this issue through every contact that you may have who can make a difference.
