Got the View??
(Click on the images for a larger view)

Let them know if you are having trouble seeing the hoarding, they might as well cut the whole tree!!!
I am appalled that the advertiser wasn't happy with the exposure they got. They wanted better visibility at the cost of a healthy full grown tree. So they went about chopping more!!

I thought we all might bring a stop to this mindless atrocity. But as it shows, it has not happened. It has continued.

This time too, the cutting has happened in the dead of the night. I spoke to some of the people who do business around that spot, they were also clueless about when this has happened. This clearly tells what is happening is illegal.

HOW DO WE STOP THIS??!!!!! OR CAN WE??

Monstrosity in "GARDEN CITY"!!!

Notice anything unusual in the following pictures??
(Please click on the images for a larger view)

You might not. Since you got an UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW of the hoardings.

If you look at the pictures again you will notice that TREES on the medians and footpaths have been CUT to achieve this beautiful VIEW.

Do they CUT TREES TO MAKE WAY FOR HOARDINGS??!!!

YES!!!

These trees have been axed by the outdoor advertising agencies to make way for their hoardings. We have seen trees being cut for developmental activities such as road widening, but here is an act of cutting trees for ADVERTISING!!!

Is there no bound for their greed for revenue?!!

The following picture illustrates what I mean by "OBSTRUCTING the VIEW of the HOARDINGS".

Now see this

All these images have been captured on "Airport Road" in Bangalore City (the so called GARDEN CITY!!!), within a distance of 1.5 Km from Airport to Indiranagar junction.

I tried complaining to the authorities, but they were as usual playing the game of "passing the buck". Then i

took this matter up with a NGO which in turn approached the right person in the City Corporation. But the NGO activists where not given a proper response.

It clearly shows that this is happening with the knowledge of the authorities, who are hand in glove with the outdoor advertising MAFIA. These trees have all been axed ONLY during night when nobody is around to question them.

The mainstream media will not take up this issue because it is negative publicity for the corporates featured on the hoarding and will result in LOSS OF ADVERTISING REVENUE.

I have realized that the only way to fight this mafia is by AWARENESS, by spreading this message, BY BOYCOTTING THE PRODUCTS ON THE HOARDINGS (if the buying stops the killing stops).

If you must be thinking, "Its just a few trees, so why bother?". NO, we are not speaking about a few trees, but a SCAM which is to be unearthed.

This is not happening only in Bangalore. It is happening everywhere!!! Its time we sit up and took notice.
